Spring schedule
M.O.W. and MÖBELMEILE mutually decide on the fair schedule 2011
The schedule has been agreed: next year the M.O.W. will take place from May 8 to May 12, 2011; the MÖBELMEILE will start already on May 7, 2011. M.O.W.’s director Mr Bernd Schäfermeier is content with this agreement, “All the arguments in favour of spring are still valid”. Helmut Kempkensteffen: “In principle our customers accepted the spring schedule this year very well. We should allow all participants, not only the trade but also the industry, to get used to this new cycle.” The second week of May best suits this sector‘s schedule. In March the Asia fairs take place, the Italian exhibitors are engaged in Milan in the 2nd week of April, in Germany they have their Easter holidays until the end of April, in the Netherlands people have their holidays in the first week of May.
After this the M.O.W. 2011 starts on Sunday, May 8. the MÖBELMEILE traditionally starts one day before, i.e. on Saturday, May 7. Subsequently the association fairs take place before the start of the summer. „With all our engagement we of course rely on support from the trade and the purchasing associations in 2011, too,” the organiser points out. “The M.O.W. and the MÖBELMEILE are the furniture fairs for consumer business in spring. We will undeniably prove this also in 2011. This is why we are looking forward to May 2011 already now.

M.O.W. Date:
M.O.W. 2010 from April 25 to 29
The decision regarding the dates for the next M.O.W. has been made. After intensive discussions and exhaustive collection of facts Mr Bernd Schäfermeier, the director of the M.O.W. fair, together with the partners of this sector has set the following schedule: The M.O.W. 2010 will take place from April 25 to 29. This means, after the furniture fairs in Asia, after Easter after the Salone of Milan and before the May holidays in the Netherlands.
All the parties concerned have realised that it is impossible to agree an “optimal schedule” which is suitable for all and for everyone. Mr Bernd Schäfermeier states, “Based on the given general framework we have nevertheless achieved optimal conditions for our customers, exhibitors and visitors with the April schedule.” Also the purchasing associations consider the end of April/beginning of May as the suitable time for the M.O.W. bearing in mind the current basic conditions. This allows sufficient time to plan the subsequent association fairs before the summer holidays. The fact that the »Möbelmeile«, the »Hausmesse Süd« and probably also »Oberfranken« will follow our schedule shows the close cohesion between the industry, trade and organisers,” says Bernd Schäfermeier.
M.O.W. 2009
Good results
Final balancing is always made at the end. The total of that fair showed a good result! After five days the M.O.W. 2009 finished successfully. After the sluggish start on Sunday many exhibitors left the East Westphalian fair halls with well filled order bags on Thursday 07/05/2009. Due to May 1st in Germany and other bank holidays in the Netherlands some of the trade visitors used the time for a short break. The total number of visitors had slightly diminished as some individual customers did not participate. However, the decisive important buyers could be welcomed in the M.O.W. fair centres. Until Thursday evening they all worked intensively and placed orders not only for summer items but also regarding the assortments for autumn. This showed that it had been right to advance the M.O.W. scheduling to Spring.
